After recently relocating to KCMO and discovering I was pregnant, I searched online for doulas in the area and found Charity. After meeting with two other doulas, I chose her because she made me feel at ease and provided reassurance during our phone call, which gave me confidence even in the early weeks. As a Black American, finding someone who could advocate for me and make me feel comfortable was crucial, especially given the lack of diversity among both OBGYN's & doulas in the area.
I gave birth at KUMED, and everyone there spoke very highly of Charity, which further affirmed my choice. Charity consistently checked in and provided valuable information throughout my pregnancy. Even though she had just attended another birth the night before, she arrived with positive energy and support. She guided me through various positions and helped me with the pushing stage, offering essential coaching.
I highly recommend Charity for her honesty about what to expect, her supportive nature, and her calming presence, which was incredibly helpful during such a high-anxiety time.
