With wholehearted appreciation, I recommend Ryah to any and all mamas, especially first time ones like I was! Everytime I look at my sweet, healthy Tommy Bear, I remember Ryah helping me every step of the way as I brought him into the world. She has an astounding wealth of knowledge and wisdom, yet her demeanor is relaxed and reassuring at every stage.
She not only saved my perineum (no tearing!), she kept me going, no matter how painful the contractions became, a guiding light in the confusing darnkess that is first time childbirth. After having Ryah there, I'd never do it any other way. Her calming energy managed to tame even my neurotic New York family throughout the entire endeavor, from my anxious mom trying to rush me to the hospital at the first signs of labor, to my fierce nurse sister eager to tell off any medical professional who did not meet her impossibly high standards.
My partner had a traumatic experience when his ex-wife brought their son into the world. Ryah listened with compassion, promising to keep him informed as labor and delivery unfolded, and she did exactly that. He reflected afterward, "Whenever I started to worry, I just looked to Ryah. I knew she'd tell me what I needed to know."
I wish everyone could have her there, by their side, a steadying force in the whirlwind. If you're on the fence, I promise you, her support will be the best decision you ever make. She will respect your wishes for a birth plan if you have one, help you create one if you don't, and advocate for you in the delivery, taking any pressure off of you and your well-meaning loved ones!
