I got Lihi as my doula for my second birth because of a traumatic first birth experience. This time with a toddler, I wanted to make sure I was never going to be alone if my husband had to attend to our firstborn. Having this support was my primary intention for getting a doula, but honestly, Lihi exceeded my expectations!! I now feel every pregnant lady should have a doula ??.
Throughout my pregnancy and especially labour, I was in close contact with her. I didn't really understand what a doula does before Lihi, but to sum it up - I'd like to say she was my "labour strategist"! She coached me on positions to ease contraction pain, lent me her TENS machine which made a WORLD of a difference in my pain management during labour, suggested when to eat and rest so I could get to the final stages of delivering my baby with enough energy, and more !!
She was especially helpful in reminding me of other pain management options available to me aside from an epidural (which I didn't end up having).
Overall my experience with Lihi was amazing. I'd love to say I would never labour again without her, but at this point postpartum, I don't want to labour again period ??. I highly recommend Lihi if you're looking for a doula! Especially if you live in the SE area of Calgary.
