When I first read Desirae's bio online, I knew I had found the right doula solely based on the fact that she liked true crime too! (I guess it didn't take much to win me over). After talking with her before even getting pregnant, I felt so much more comfortable and prepared about having our first child. Once we found out we had to opt for a C-section at 10pm, Desirae found a way to support us after visiting hours in the post op area to check on us and give us a crash course in breastfeeding. Even though unforeseen circumstances prevented Desirae from being with us for the birth itself, all of the resources, visits and communication beforehand made my husband and I feel ready for however our son came into this world.
