Kelly has served as my doula for both of my births. I had a C-Sect with my first son in 2021 due to his breech positioning, and even though it was not the birth I had planned, Kelly was an amazing support through the process and assured me that a VBAC would be a possibility for my next pregnancy. When I found out I was pregnant with my second son in 2023, I reached out to Kelly right away as I was very intent on having a natural VBAC and knew I wanted her partnership through the process. She was an incredible support and resource throughout my entire pregnancy which resulted in the most wonderful, peaceful, natural birth in June of 24. She knew how important it was for me to have an unmedicated VBAC and she counseled me and guided me throughout my pregnancy to ensure I met that goal. We had frequent check-ins following OB visits and she is super attentive and responsive as needs and questions arise throughout the pregnancy journey. She spent several hours with my husband and I during a visit in the third trimester to discuss what to expect during labor/birth and helped me create my birth plan and even offered a guide on what to pack in my hospital bag. When the time came, I felt so confident and prepared for birth. Kelly is incredibly hands on and present during birth. She instills so much confidence in you that you feel empowered and entirely capable of natural birth. She navigates all of the moving parts beautifully including coordinating with nurses, staff, and helping the husband cope! She had incredible synergy with my OB which made everything so seamless. Thanks in large part to her, my natural, unmedicated VBAC was an incredible success and was truly the birth of my dreams! I am still reliving the entire experience 6 weeks later. She is definitely someone you want on your team during pregnancy and birth and I can't speak highly enough of Kelly Sunshine! I look forward to working with her again during my next pregnancy!
