I started my journey with Rebekkah before I was pregnant. I was pretty sure I wanted a doula and I wanted to understand the process and what it was all about as soon as possible. After that first conversation, I was sold and I am so glad to have found her.
I was hoping to have a birth center birth but unfortunately that didn't work out. That said, Rebekkah helped us to still have a positive birth experience and played a huge role in helping us to feel informed and prepared every step of the way. She is caring, educated and encouraging, when you meet with her it's obvious that she is really listening and focusing on you and giving you the best care and support. Due to high BP prior to pregnancy, it felt as though I was jumping through hoops for my OB and it was so nice to be able to get her opinion on things and talk it through. It helped me to advocate for myself every step of the way and ultimately push back when I felt necessary. I also appreciated her transparency and honesty at my final prenatal when it seemed like I was going to need an induction. It allowed me to go into it feeling prepared mentally and knowing what my options were. When Rebekkah arrived at our birth I was resting but I remember her getting the room nice and comfortable and just knowing I was in good hands. Her help during my labor was invaluable, she had snacks, made sure I was hydrated, helped with repositioning. She made my husband and I feel seen and heard every step of the way. My birth did not go the way I planned, as they rarely do, but I still had an overwhelmingly positive experience and I know that she absolutely played a part in that. I could go on and on but seriously if you're thinking of working with her, do it. You won't regret it.
I look forward to staying in touch with her between now and then! She's such a special person to have on your journey.
