The connection with Ryah during our initial interview was instant. I knew she would be such a help to us for our first birth, but she really blew all expectations out of the water with how wonderful she made our experience. I had to get induced, which was not my first choice. Ryah walked me through every step and helped me understand what to expect from start to finish. She gave great advice and also sat in my feelings with me for every decision I had to make with no judgement, just support. I was so anxious about being induced, but with Ryah there, I felt so much more prepared and secure in every decision. My husband said he wasn’t sure what to do while I was having contractions and Ryah helped keep him involved as much as he wanted to be with supporting me in different positions or breathing through contractions. She was always thinking about the next best thing for me and baby. Even after I got an epidural, she worked to move my body from side to side, up and down, to keep baby in good position and keep me comfortable. When it came time to push, Ryah was there to coach me and press a warm compress to keep things clean and help with tearing. She is truly an angel and it is very clear she is an expert but also loves what she does. Supporting someone through labor is no easy task, and it really amazed me how invested in my experience she was. Also a huge perk was her coming by when we got home and delivering some wonderful breast feeding advice along with homemade bone broth that I’m still dreaming of. There was not a moment she wasn’t helping me through pregnancy, labor, and beyond and I am forever grateful. Plus, she even photographed the whole thing for us and kept it PG as requested :) so now we get to relive some of the most special moments forever!
