It turns out that we had mutual friends and lots of overlap in our lives! She advised me to switch hospitals, aligning perfectly with my own considerations. Throughout my pregnancy, Lauralee provided unwavering guidance and encouragement, emphasizing movements for optimal fetal positioning and empowering me to assert my birth preferences with my midwives. When labor began the day before my due date, Lauralee was a constant presence—via text, phone, and in person at the hospital. Her calming influence and steadfast support kept me focused on my goal. During the intense labor, I doubted myself, but Lauralee's reassurance and reminders of my strength propelled me forward. About an hour later, I welcomed my baby into the world through a successful unmedicated VBAC! Without Lauralee's steadfast support, I might have opted for an epidural and would have been disappointmented afterward. Thankfully I don't have to wonder about that because I had the best coach and support!! I still can't believe that I was able to achieve the birth that I never thought I could. After the birth, Lauralee stayed with us for about two hours. She talked through my birth with me, answered some of my questions, gave us a tour of my placenta, and made sure that I was feeling good. I can't say enough good things about Lauralee!! You would be so lucky to work with her!
