I have few words to describe how unbelievably important Daniella was for my birthing experience. These are a few: warm, validating, good listener, open-minded adaptable to my and my partner's needs, charismatic, knowledgeable. We built rapport easily through the pre-partum sessions and she not only was an important advocate for my values but she also helped me and my partner learn how to advocate for ourselves. She also was readily accessible throughout the process, and was very well prepared for our needs and what she predicted they would be during labor.
In the moment she stepped into the labor room, I thought, "What would we do without her?" and this thought has come to me several times after, as I relive and share my birthing experience with loved ones. I wish every birthing person could have the opportunity to have a doula like Daniella.
