Testimonial for Saltwater Doulas
We had the great privilege of having Genna Wallace as our doula for our first baby! My husband and I took Alyssa's childbirth classes as well, which were incredibly informative and helpful, but being more informed made us even more certain that we would need a doula come the actual labor to help guide us through a safe, healthy, and emotionally supported birth.
Genna was always so positive about the pregnancy and labor. I found that there was a lot of negativity on the internet, and it was a breath of fresh air whenever I got to connect with her. She was so excited for us to meet our baby boy.
When labor got closer she was always very responsive, and helped me know when I was showing signs that labor was coming soon. When she arrived at the hospital, she transformed the room with lights and other soothing elements, and made sure to tell me everything that was happening. She got me into the right positions to help me have a relatively fast labor - I only pushed for an hour! And even though it wasn't a primary goal of mine, I was able to deliver our baby without the use of an epidural or any pain meds! With all of the nurses and midwives coming and going, it was so nice to have her as a constant support and to keep track of everything that had been happening so far since I was certainly mentally away, ha. It also allowed my husband to be fully present for emotional support, and to not try to do any coaching on positions or otherwise himself.
Both baby and I are very healthy, and we couldn't be more grateful to Genna for our little miracle!! Can't recommend her enough!! :)
