Nicole was the reason our firstborn's birth was a positive experience. Her presence in the birth room was calming and motivating. My husband was eager to have her there so that I wouldn't feel like I had to "manage the room"; she took care of facilitating communication and paying attention to details as I focused on giving birth. She kept me so occupied with exercises and changing positions that I didn't even think to ask for painkillers. In the months before the due date, she walked us through need-to-know and nice-to-know information about the birth process and even some details about caring for a newborn child. As the due date passed and there was still no baby, she helped us respond to doctors as they started talking about an induction. Nicole was steady, direct, professional, and knowledgeable about childbirth. We will be sure to have her in the room with us for the births of all our children!
