Our experience with Barbie was wonderful! She came highly recommended from two separate friends, and was a fantastic guide throughout pregnancy, labor and postpartum. We worked with her during my second pregnancy -- we didn't have a doula in my first birth and really felt like it would be helpful to have one for our second (based on how the first went). Barbie gave us great advice and guidance throughout my pregnancy and always respected our choices and desires. She was especially helpful in helping decide when to go to the hospital, ensuring that I could advocate for myself in labor, and gave great advice on positioning to ease labor pain. Her calm voice and positive energy are one of the things I remember most strongly from my labor process! She was also helpful in recommending pelvic floor therapists & lactation consultants postpartum, since the last time I wanted to do with a newborn and toddler was more research. I'm so glad we worked with her, and would recommend her to anyone in need of a doula.
