Tia was the most wonderful doula to work with for both me and my husband. Originally, my husband was more of an advocate than I was to work with a doula. I felt that I had done a lot of research and I knew I needed my husband there with me for birth as an encouraging voice and touch. I wasn't sure if I wanted anyone else in the room. My husband, however was very nervous as this was our first birth and child. Tia was beyond knowledgeable for our prenatal appointment and checked in with me regularly, especially as I passed my due date. As we headed towards the hospital for labor, Tia easily communicated with my husband. She provide emotional support, educational support and hands on physical support for me for more than 12 hours. She made position suggestions and motivated me to keep moving, but also respected my request to rest when needed. As things deviated from my birth plan, she was non-judgmental and informative. I truly cannot imagine what labor would have been like without Tia there and if I ever have future children, she will be my first call.
