My partner and I could NOT be happier with the support we got from Justine and the Midwest Doula team for our second child’s birth.
In our first meeting with Justine, she asked questions to get to know us and our first child’s birth, and to learn what we were looking for this second time around. By the end of our time together, my partner was in tears. Justine had asked such important questions and helped us remember the power of the birthing person. She made me feel so powerful and affirmed, despite having a first labor where I felt powerless.
Justine showed up to the labor and delivery with such purpose, wisdom, encouragement, and partnership with the hospital staff. We were able to put our full trust in her right away. My labor was fast and furious just as Justine had guessed it would be. She directed my partner and I to get in the best positions to find comfort while making sure I kept progressing as much as possible before I opted for an epidural. I labored so far without pain meds because her words and guidance literally lessened the pain and discomfort. She advocated for my comfort every step of the way and continued to cheer me on even after baby had been delivered!
I would never go through the birthing experience again without Justine and her team.
