My husband and I were so happy to have Marissa as our birth doula. From our first introductory meeting with her (before we chose her to be our doula), she was attentive, affirming, and attuned to our desires for my birth experience. Throughout my pregnancy, she checked in with us frequently, offered support and resources, prepared us for what to expect, and made suggestions as appropriate.
What made me choose Marissa over other birth doulas I interviewed was her in-depth knowledge of labor and delivery practices at different hospitals and her know-how in navigating each hospital's policies and practices. I also appreciated that from the beginning, Marissa always included my husband in conversations and ensured that he felt comfortable and an equal part of the process (something I had the tendency to forget!).
