Testimonial for Midwest Doulas- Doulas, Placenta Encapsulation

Choosing to hire Midwest Doulas was the single best decision in my entire pregnancy/birth experience. I consider myself normally a very strong advocate for myself but being in the throes of labor it was unbelievably helpful to have Justine there. The second she walked in the room she got to work advocating for my birth preferences after a triage nurse refused to start an IV I had asked for three times already. My husband and I were so relieved to have her there. My labor went extremely quickly for a first baby and she helped get exactly what I wanted and needed (an epidural) ASAP. She was clearly well respected at the hospital and the midwife let her take the reins helping me choose the pace of the process and getting me into different pushing positions.

Justine was very respectful of all of my birth preferences. I had a combination of some very crunchy/granola preferences and some more western medical choices and she made sure I got them all with zero judgement and full support.

The prenatal classes were also very helpful, especially for my husband. I was also on the fence about placenta encapsulation but I’m really glad we did that. Ale dropped off a beautiful package with the placenta capsules, a placenta tincture, nipple balm, and sitz bath herb package. Pre-birth, Ale also taught us helpful exercises to do to prepare my body for labor and I truly think they helped with our speedy labor/birth and just generally to help with comfort during the last weeks of pregnancy.

I cannot recommend Midwest Doulas enough and will definitely hire them for any future kids we have!
