I don't know what I would have done without Danielle.
I chose to work with her because of her vast life experience. She has been through loss, as I have, and had a successful VBAC, which I was aiming for.
It was my first year in Canada, and I was terrified to giving birth in a foreign country without the support of my family. My first child was born during the pandemic, in a c-section, so I was panicking about having to take care of two children alone with my husband again.
The weeks prior to giving birth, she was essential to help me understand all of the questions and pressures surrounding me, as I was 40 years old, and thus constantly being pressured to go through an induction.
I attempted doing a VBAC and ended up in and emergency c-section, and it was great to not have to worry about anything other than breathing while being in labour. Danielle explained me what was going on around me, helping me feel safe during the process.
My husband and daughter stayed at home while I was in hospital with Danielle, and she made sure everyone felt safe and informed, including my husband. She gave me the support I didn't even know I would need, and sometimes I didn't even have to say anything, because she could just pick up in the air exactly what I needed.
After my child was born, she did some postpartum visits, which made life a bit easier.
Danielle is special, she has a genuine love for what she does, and you can feel that while being in her care. I felt heard, seen and cared about. We also had great laughs! Even going back and forth to the hospital while waiting for a spot, while being in a lot of pain, we had fun! I was able to relax and have fun because I felt safe with her.
