Emily is AMAZING. She was our doula for the labor and delivery of our 2 children. I wanted an unmedicated birth for both and I achieved it both times with her expert coaching and caring, calm comfort. She is so patient and present - I felt so well supported - both physically with her skilled massage during contractions and emotionally with her words of encouragement, gentle reminders about how to breathe, what to focus on, etc. Emily knew exactly what I needed at all times. I am so thankful that I found her. Many of my friends have also hired her and have loved having her as their doula also.
Emily is a game changer when it comes to having a positive birth experience. In the earlier part of labor with my second child we were dancing and having a lot of fun while trying to get labor to progress! Then when things got super intense, Emily got me get through the most difficult 30 min of my life when I went from 6 cm to 10 cm! I was ready to give up the unmedicated route and get an epidural, but she was able to help me focus on my goal and I did it!!
Emily continues to be a significant presence in our lives, giving advice about breastfeeding and baby sleep issues when we text her. We love Emily and even though we don't plan to have any more children, we would absolutely hire her again! It's hard to put into words how much we appreciate the experience of having Emily there for both births. She is the best!!
