I don't know if "thank you" will ever adequatly express how grateful we were to have Heather as our Doula during the birth of our first baby. Heather is incredibly warm, friendly and inviting from the moment that you first meet her. She takes the time to get to know you and your stories. Her PT knowledge helped me prep my body to be in the best possible shape prior to delivery (vaginal delivery).
When it came time to give birth, we had to be induced so a lot of our birth plan was no longer relevant, but she helped inform us about all the possible options and the pros/cons to each one. Induction + birth lasted 29 grueling hours, and she was there with us every step of the way. During a very long and painful night and next day, Heather stayed upbeat, positive and was the very person we needed to lean on in some of the most intense and emotional hours of our lives. When it came time to push, baby girl was born in 20 mins and about 5 contractions. I had ONE very minimal tear that didn't even need stitches, and I credit Heather for that! Post partum, she was there checking in on us via text and providing helpful info about what we were experiencing.
We feel like Heather is forever a part of our lives and certainly part of the journey in terms of the birth of our daughter. We'd like to "reserve" Heather for our second (timing TBD!!).
