It's been a year since we welcomed our little one into the world, and I'm still so grateful for Bri's support through my pregnancy and birthing day. She helped us think through so many questions that we hadn't thought to ask - and it was one of her questions that helped us realize that a hospital birth for our second baby wasn't the right choice for us. We chose to do a water birth at home, and Bri was right there each step of the way. When I learned that my baby was sunny-side up (just like my first!), Bri came over to help me through the Miles Circuit to try to get her into a better position for birth. During labor, Bri wrote encouraging notes for me and posted them around the house. When my partner needed a break, Bri stepped in to help support me through contractions. She was there through the most intense moments of pushing, reminding me to pause and breathe. In the days and weeks after my little one was born, Bri came over and checked in on me to see how I was doing. She was exactly the person we needed on our birthing team - she's calm, yet assertive. She's willing to jump in with whatever's needed (including heating water on the stove to supplement my birthing tub!), and she brings a sense of humor and can-do attitude through it all. Forever grateful to have had Bri by my side through this adventure.
