Testimonial for Jennifer Michel-Wilson

This was my 1st time having doula n I enjoyed it. I applied to have a doula in December 2024 and it took forever to be matched with 1. I think I finally got matched in march. Jennifer quickly knew the type of person I was. And once we connected as both Caribbean I felt that she opened up more because we could share the same values. She spoke to me like a 2nd mom which I appreciated because I am a person that reaponds to care empathy and understanding. We didn't get a lot of time together because i think we were matched so late. We didn't get to spend my labor together because I was ready to push when I got to the birthing center. We planned to dance to soca during my labor I had strawberry aroma therpy ready to defuse I had the oils ready we planned to just chill during my labor n have a wonderful experience but the baby had other plans. At first she told me she may not make it to my birth n introduce me to the stand in doula which i was not happy about. Even tho i never said anything because she knew me so well she actually made it to my brith because shw knew i didnt want the step doula to come. I wanted my real doula. I was so happy she made it n finally seeing her in person I was happy. She was very supportive positive and she also was down to kick my boyfriend out the room if he was irritating me which was part of my birth plan. She has given me good advice. Even tho some of the advice I took a while to act on but thats just me. I like to see first before i do what others tell me and sometimes it doesn't work out. Like if i had went in earlier to the birth center I could of labored in the water before the real pain kicked in. BUT at the same time if I did go in earlier she probably wouldn't of been there because she was at another birth and I wouls of been with my step doula. So it worked out. God knew what he wanted for me and he gave it. I would give her 5 stars as a doula. She is very stern but caring and women like me need that type of doula.
