Jessica showed up for me during my fourth postpartum season and was a huge blessing I wish I had in my previous seasons. I was so wary of asking for help, but when she showed up eager to support me, there was no task too mundane (like sorting baby clothes) and she always asked if there was more she could take off my plate. At one point, I just needed a friend/adult to talk to (if you’ve ever been in the thick of the newborn season, you get it!) over housecleaning and sleep, and she was a great ear and held space for the variety of emotions I was processing.
But when she did tackle the to do list, like cleaning my nightmare kitchen, oh my goodness, it was immaculate, even my perfectionist husband couldn’t find anything she missed.
Jessica doesn’t understand how her impact and presence in our home helped my whole family feel like we could breathe and actually enjoy time together over feeling like we were drowning with chores that were never ending.
