Hiring Melanie as my birth and postpartum doula was one of the best decisions I made when I prepared for the arrival of my daughter last November. She is experienced, communicative, thoughtful, grounded, conscientious, and a wonderful person to talk to about pretty much anything. I'm a single mom, and she absolutely made me feel like I had another adult in the room, literally and figuratively, starting from the day my daughter was born. She was in the OR during my c-section, took beautiful birth pics, and then spent the first night in the hospital with me. There is nothing like being able to get uninterrupted sleep in the first months of parenthood, but more than that, Melanie was a supporter and sounding board, and so sweet and patient with my daughter. I recommend her highly to anyone looking for a doula.
