From the moment I found out I was pregnant with our first child I knew I wanted a home birth, but I didn't know what direction I needed to go in and what support I would need. I began looking for a doula in the area. After reviewing several people, Joy's name remained in my head. So I decided to reach out to her to see if she had availability for my "due date". Upon meeting her, I knew she was the perfect person for me.The strength she had, the patience and compassion is what I needed to get me through this new journey. Throughout my pregnancy, Joy was very supportive. She checked on me frequently making sure I was taking in the nutrition I needed as well as providing educational information during our prenatals. Fast forward to baby day 42 weeks to the day Joy was there helping me trying to get baby in the right position. We did spinning babies and rest in addition to a few other things to help maintain stable strong contractions. Joy provided a great communication line between me and my husband during the times I could not speak or get words out. She educated him on the process and things that were going on and I felt assured that he was being calmed. She definitely was the right person for me and I will choose her again in the future as I did with my second child who was born last year. Unfortunately, with my first child I did not choose to do any birth photography. So with my second baby I knew I wanted to have those moments captured and I'm glad I did! Joy was able to capture so many great moments that I will cherish forever as well as be the doula that I needed during labor. Joy is such an amazing woman and a blessing sent from above.??
