Without hesitation, I highly recommend Rocky as a birth doula! I knew I wanted a support person in the labor & delivery room with me in addition to my husband, because as a first-time mom and fairly deferential people-pleaser, I was nervous to face birth and pressure from medical providers to make choices without the experience or knowledge to make those informed decisions. I was surprised that most of the work we did with Rocky actually happened before the big day. We met several times to discuss my expectations and preferences for my birth plan. If I was unsure, Rocky had tons of resources with research to help me define my intentions for birth. On the day of, Rocky was supportive of every decision I made, including my decision for an induced, medicated hospital birth. I felt confident and prepared for every choice I made on the day of my induction. I firmly believe that Rocky gave me the strength to stand up for myself. The support and resources she has provided postpartum have also been invaluable! If I had it my way, Rocky would be my advocate and support person for every big event of my life!
