My husband and I both agree that we never would have achieved our first VBAC without Claudia's expertise and support. She has a wealth of different tools and techniques to help throughout pregnancy and labor and offers them in an empowering way. Not only would I hire Claudia again, I *did* hire her again! My next birth (another VBAC) was at a different hospital and it was neat to see how in each location and with very different birth teams, she worked so well alongside the medical team. Everyone enjoys having her around!
In both cases, labor was long and I ended up opting for an epidural on the second day of labor. This didn't make Claudia any less necessary -- if anything, her skill and support helping me get into new positions with the epidural in place was crucial to moving baby down and keeping labor progressing. If you think you'll get an epidural, I'd recommend her just as heartily as if you're planning an unmedicated birth.
