We feel so fortunate that Amanda was our doula. This was our second pregnancy and we did not have a doula with our first. Knowing that Amanda was there before, during, and after delivery really added a sense of peace and preparation to our experience. We found our preparation meetings to be very helpful, even as second-time parents, and appreciated the time Amanda took to answer our questions. My labor escalated pretty quickly and Amanda was there ASAP. Her support during labor was incredibly helpful as well as her knowledge of many different birthing positions and techniques. And it became essential when things took a turn and I required an emergency C-section. She was a seamless liaison between me and the medical providers, and provided crucial support to my husband once I was taken to surgery and he was still suiting up. During the procedure, she was such a valuable go-between on both sides of the curtain so I could be informed and my husband could avoid passing out :) and she stayed with us to debrief after we finally made it back to our room after delivery. Amanda continued to be available postpartum and just knowing we could reach out was such a relief. We would highly recommend working with Amanda and are grateful she was part of our birth experience.
