Raya made a significant positive impact on my pregnancy and birthing experience. I was hesitant about getting a doula because I knew I wanted an epidural. I wasn't sure if doulas were just for people who wanted natural births. I ended up having a c-section, but I am so glad that I had Raya on my team! Before the birth, her home visits were thorough and very valuable. She really took time to get to know me and my partner. When I wanted to use the hypnobabies technique, she offered to sign up for the hypnodoula course, and happily took extra time to learn my preferred program. Our birth rehearsal was a beautiful experience, which Raya clearly spent hours preparing for. On the day of my induction, Raya came as soon as we asked her to. Her presence shaped my hospital experience. She changed the atmosphere of the delivery room completely. She led me through different positions, provided massage, and helped my partner get involved. After sticking with me through 7 hours of labor, Raya supported me as the decision was made that I needed a c-section. Although she could not attend the surgery, she stayed and waited to see me in recovery, even though it was 4:00 in the morning! Finally, her postpartum visit helped me become more comfortable as a first-time Mom caring for my newborn while my partner works out of the home. From start to finish, I am SO thankful that I decided to connect with Raya. I will recommend her to any pregnant friends I have in the future!
