It is hard for me to put into words what Melissa means to me after my birth experience. I would pay for her services over & over again. As my birth was approaching, it took a bit of a detour from what we thougt would happen. Melissa was always calm and supporitve about it in the days leading up. We had a phone call the night before my induction which definetly helped calm my nerves. She walked me through things which definetly helped me get into a better head space and also brought up important reminders/topics to discuss with my husband and OB. The morning of my induction, she was constatnly checking in & came as soon as my labor was picking up. She was available for ?'s & helped guide us on what we should do in regards to next steps during the induction. Once my labor was active, her presence was so key. She helped me get into different positions to expedite labor and get baby into good position. She constnatly was helping with counter pressure & advoacted for me to use the nitrous from early on to get ahead of the pain. She was encouraging, calming, & a sense of peace during my labor. She also told me everything I needed to hear when I wanted to give up. She kept reminding me to get checked before I wanted to get that epidural. Before you know it, I was 10cm's and pushing! Melissa helped me achieve my wish of having an unmedicated birth. I will forever be so grateful to her for this as we know how sacred birth is for women. She did more than that though, she also helped me achieve my redemptive birth experience. She was also such a source of support and guidance for my husband as well. Both my husband and I have commented multiple times that this birth felt so much more supported than the birth of our 1st child and for so much of that, we owe to Melissa. After the birth she helped get baby to latch. Took priceless videos/pics, and called me once I was home to check on me and gave me some key advice/reminders. She is incredible!
