Suzanne is truly exceptional! Reflecting on her incredible support brings a wave of emotion. I only had my husband as family support, our families couldn't travel. I had finalized Suzanne as my Doula in my first trimester. And since then She or Cari were there for any question I had or if I needed a zoom call as I was figuring things out.

During the prenatal visits, after all the drama I mentioned above about firing her, my gut still pushed me to keep her when she and Cari showed up for the visit. There was somethign about these women which made me feel assured that I will be safe in that delivery room if I have one of these with me. They gave me all the tips, assured me that there was nothing wrong if I gained more than instructed, how to climb the stairs, curb walking, postures to keep the baby in an ideal positions, things to eat to increase protein, etc.

When the day arrived, Suzanne was by my side for the entire 28-hour ordeal. She let me and my husband get rest but she was wide awake. That strap on my belly made me crazy due to insane itching, she made me sit in the tub (I was hesitant initially) which relieved me instanstly. Let me tell you, she probably came with as much luggage as us. Every sugnle gear of hers was exteremley important. She assisted me at every step of the way as I was in discussion with my OB and nurses, she knew my preferences and respected them too! She made me do all those postures on the bed so that baby gets in the right position, held my hand duing every single push, made me avoid anesthisia during ring of fire as I was so close. I seriously don't know what we would have done without her. She stayed till my baby latched.

She continued to check in regularly postpartum too. About feeding, baby's weight, helped with donor's milk, left the weighing scale, came to check on us. SHE filled the gap as an eomotional support too as our family couldn't be here!
