When my wife first brought up hiring a Doula, I didn't think it was necessary. But after attending a birth class, I quickly realized that there is a lot more to birthing a child than I thought. It made more sense to me than ever to have an advocate and Coach for not only my wife, but for me as well during the intense experience of birth. My wife was able to have a unique level of peace as we walked into the hospital while in TRANSITION because we had Kali on our side. Knowing that Kali was ready to help my wife stick to her birth plan gave her confidence and peace which was crucial in allowing her to relax and feel safe. When we arrived at the hospital, the midwife informed us that my wife was dilated to 9 1/2 cm and told us the station of the baby. Kali was able to instruct my wife which positions to labor in to help the baby to move down given that information. Within the first 2 minutes of following this coaching, my wife's water broke and labor continued to progress. Throughout labor, Kali was a constant positive energy, keeping my wife going with encouragement. We're incredibly grateful to have had Kali along side us in this first birth experience!
