Melissa was my saving grace during my pregnancy and labor/delivery. After experiencing a C Section, I knew almost immediately that I wanted to attempt a TOLAC. I had heard great things about doula support, but I was worried about the judgment and the cost. Thankfully, my husband was supportive of my wishes. I met with Melissa for a consult and knew immediately that I needed her by my side. She listened to me and was the first person I had spoke to that truly understood my hopes. Her guidance helped me feel confident in the choices we had to make. When I asked for the epidural, she encouraged me to get through a few more contractions, try one more position that helped me hold off a little longer. She was knowledgeable about positions to put me in to help baby descend. After receiving my epidural, she spent hours by my side keeping me calm and prepared for what to expect next. Melissa worked with the nurses to help get me in the optimal position to push baby out. When interventions were necessary, Melissa reassured me that I was with the best doctor and not to be fearful. After two hours of pushing, our sweet daughter was born! I achieved my VBAC. I couldn't imagine giving birth again without Melissa my side. She understood my wishes, lowered my fears, and allowed me to experience the most redemptive and rewarding birth. One I didn't know I was capable of experiencing. It was a beautiful experience, one that every woman deserves to experience. Both my births were beautiful, but their recoveries were vastly different. I am so proud of what my body was able to achieve and to be able to share my story to other women. I couldn't have done it without Melissa's unwavering love, patience and support. I will forever be grateful. The way she serves women and mothers is a true gift from God. I look forward to working with her in the future and experiencing the beauty of childbirth again! Melissa is incredible! Thank you isn't enough!
