We found Bri toward the end of my pregnancy. We werent getting a lot of support from our hospital provider throughout the pregnancy. One day I had, had enough and I changed providers and seached for doulas. When I came to Bri's website and introduction page, I started crying. Her words spoke to me through a computer screen. She was quickly able to get us on her schedule, plan days we could take a birthing class in our house, and started on my birth plan. It felt so good to have instant support and and instant friend on our side. She demonstrated massage techniques, relaxtion techniques and ideas, and played the ice game to mimic contraction pain and coping. Her comprehensive birth plan template helped me get my ideas and fears on one sheet of paper. After months of uncertainty and unease, she was a calming presence that would check in on both of us. As pregnancy and birth goes, I ended up needing an emergent cesarean and didnt get to use my birth plan but Bri was there for us. We were a little bit in denial about needing a cesarean until the provider was in the room saying we needed one, so we last minute had Bri come to us. She was able to be by my side so my husband could go home and grab our bags, shower, and get us food. She helped me process the events, breastfeed, and feed myself after such an exhausting day. After birth she was constantly checking in, offering to come watch Weston while we rested, or bring us food. We have been having such a problem with his lip and tongue tie and feeding that we opted for some food deliveries for our check ins. This worked out so well for us as we were often too tired to go to the store or feed ourselves. Bri is so adaptable and comforting it was invaulable to have her with us for this process. Even when we didnt take her up on offers, we always knew she was there for us. We are so thankful for Bri.
