I wish we had experienced all of the wonderful experiences shared here that led us to hire Tiffany as our doula. My labor was unusual, started at 10pm and increased to transition phase intensity contractions by 2am. I labored at home with my husband with contactions laating between 2-7 minutes long at about 90 seconds apart until around 8am. We asked Tiffany to come assist us in person repeatedly but she stated that my labor shouldn't be progressing as it was and that it would calm down and resume early labor intensity. She was available to us by phone overnight with position changes. By the time she was on her way, I had gone to the hospital "early" against her advice and was already heading back for a C section. She did ultimately refund us part of our fee and provided post partum visits however, she was not there when I needed her most and it was devastating. I can tell she meant well but unfortunately we did not have the experience we hoped with her. We did not have family in town or birth experience. I hired her in hopes of having support with her extensive training, experience, and knowledge should things go wrong (which they did) but alas the support was not there. It's taken me two years to write this review because I hate writing bad reviews, it was a traumatizing experience and I do think Tiffany is a wonderful person.. but we are about to have our second child and due to the experiences we had we are completely against hiring a doula.
