Hiring Krishyon was one of the best things that we did for the birth of our first baby. We planned for a hospital birth but were nervous about possible interventions and being steered in certain directions unnecessarily. My goal was to have as close to an unmedicated birth as felt possible, and we knew that the guidance of a doula would help. We interviewed a few and it was clear that Krishyon's experience was beyond the other “very experienced” options we considered. I felt like she was truly invested in us right from the beginning. We met with Krishyon a few of times pre-birth, and my husband and I each felt very prepared. As my due date came and went, Krishyon was a constant reassurance, always very quick to reply to everything that surfaced along the way. We had prepared to labor at home for as long as possible, but when my water broke in the middle of the night, Krishyon suggested that we go right to the hospital (a surprise to us in the moment but what turned out to be a critical decision). In our time at the hospital, Krishyon was a constant guiding light and positive presence. She coached us through different laboring techniques and pain remedies. And she was a huge advocate as pushing approached much quicker than the hospital staff anticipated or was ready for. Our baby arrived and we were able to have the birth we had hoped for! Some family and friends have asked if our doula was worth it, considering how quickly our baby arrived (less than 3 hours at the hospital), and we both agree that Krishyon was a key piece of the experience for each of us, and a decision we would make again! Since our baby’s birth, we’ve met with Krishyon a couple of times for lactation help. Unsurprisingly, she has been an incredible resource for that as well. There is a comfort with Krishyon that is like family and we are so grateful to have had her support on this journey. We absolutely recommend her and plan to work with her again in the future!
