What a difference a doula makes! Having had a prior traumatic birth experience, it was very important to me to have as much support as possible during my second labor and delivery. Jean was amazing every step of the way. She helped me mentally, physically, and emotionally by developing a support plan, guiding my partner, advocating for me with the healthcare team, and coaching me through labor. She knew when to be involved and when to step back and give me and my husband time to connect. Jean provided ideas while not overstepping the medical team. Her advice allowed me to have a vaginal delivery shortly after I was told I needed a c-section. Most importantly, she was a calming presence throughout, she created a relaxing and loving environment for us, and I felt very safe in her care. I highly recommend her!
