She was strong, confident, supportive, and gave me the courage I lacked when fear and the pain overwhelmed me. She helped me cope by rubbing my back to help me relax through contractions; she held my hand so I never felt alone; she spoke words of reassurance faithfully over and over again such as, "This is good, it's bringing your baby!" ..."Don't be afraid, God is helping you"..."Jesus made your body to do this"..."Relax your jaw"..."Keep your voice low"...
