As a first time mother the unknown about childbirth was a little scary, but Ashley put all these fears to rest. Throughout my pregnancy Ashley was so responsive to all my questions and gave us very clear immediate answers.
The day I went into labor I called Ashley to let her know that I was having contractions but was unsure if they were the real deal. I did not want her to waste a trip to my house if this was not real labor. She assured me this was her job and what she does and headed over in the early evening. When she arrived she determined that I was in fact in real labor and most likely close to transition. She had me on the ball and in other positions and was helping me through contractions with a very calm and soothing voice. She was also talking my husband and Mom through as well and letting them know how they could support and help me. Around 9pm my water broke and the pain really kicked in, Ashleys presence helped me to stay focused, and determined to have the unmedicated birth I was so wanting. Things were a tad hectic when we arrived at the hospital and Ashley remained the voice of reason, calm, loving, motherly and strong. We delivered our precious baby girl shortly after arrival completely unmedicated like I wanted. It was such a wonderful and beautiful birth and I believe had I not had Ashley my birth plan would of been out the window.
Ashley also encapsulated my placenta which I highly recommend. I have recovered so well after giving birth and my milk supply has been great! I really feel like they have helped me so much.
I can not rave enough about Ashley and the importance of a doula by your side. It made me feel so empowered, strong, and deeply cared for by Ashley, my husband and Mom. The pictures were amazing as well, I can’t stop looking at them. Ashley, I am forever grateful, thankful and we love you!
