Testimonial for Kali King
Kali is exactly the combination of support that I needed for my birth. Kali has a background as an EMT so she is well versed in the medical jargon and procedures that are used when having a baby. She is also well versed in other natural solutions that really helped for those problems pregnant women suffer with where there aren't a ton of pills you can take (hello insomnia!).
I had an extremely tough birth/postparatum with my first child and needed someone who could help me be an informed advocate for myself as well as an emotional support system in the tough times with this second one. I definitely screamed "I can't do this anymore!" towards the end of my labor and Kali with there to hold my hand and tell me I could!
Kali was extremely supportive during my pregnancy and was a fiercely protective partner for both me and the baby. She offered to come to my appointments to talk to the OB when they weren't listening to my situation and just seeing me as a stereotype. She was there for every second when I was in labor (almost 48 hours!) and was extremely supportive even after when we had some colic/gas issues. She completely saw me as a person who was having a child instead of a vessel for the child to grow in and consistently reminded me to make sure I focused on my needs instead of just my family's and the baby's needs.
I needed someone who could speak up when I couldn't and validate that the situation was expected or abnormal. I needed some support while in labor (my husband looks to me to ask for the support I needed and I surely was in no state to provide that guidance to him). I needed reminders for the things that I heard but didn't internalize. Kali was all of those things and more!
If I was going to have a third child, the first thing I would do is hire Kali again.
