Desirae has been a source of support for us since my first pregnancy 3.5 years ago. She has seen us through pandemic stress and both a low-risk and high-risk pregnancy. I appreciate Desirae because her commitment to supporting all families doesn’t mean she just blindly does whatever each client wants without discussion. She made sure she knew not only our preferences but also our reasoning behind them so she could really understand our perspective. When I went off the rails and wanted to speed up my induction, Desirae first said she would support whatever I ultimately wanted to do, but then also presented evidenced-based reasoning to help me calm down and make a better decision. Phew! Unfortunately, Desirae missed our births due to pandemic hospital restrictions and then a really fast labor (not her fault!). But her support in the immediate postpartum was amazing. I am SO GLAD she was there to hold my hand through stitches and bleeding and cleanup after birth while my partner held the baby. She answered my five zillion questions and has been a continued source of support in the weeks after. I have recommended her to everyone I know since my first birth and will continue to do so!
