We had an amazing experience with Mel as our doula! From the moment we met her, we loved her energy, genuineness, knowledge, and humor. She did a really great job of hearing, validating, and supporting us throughout the entire process while also asking and getting us to sit with the "hard" questions that come up in pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. I had initially planned for an unassisted labor and delivery, but we ended up having an induction for medical issues that came up after my due date and Mel was an incredible support with this process. I know she would say otherwise, but I don't know how we could have done it without her. In the thick of labor when I wanted to give up, she encouraged me with words and her presence and supported me with comfort measures and distraction skills. After 36 hours, our little one was born and I can confidently say that I had a great birth experience overall and a beautiful golden hour with our little one. We would highly recommend Mel!
