After an extremely long + painful labor with my first, I reached out to Barbie at the recommendation of a family member. Within a few minutes of our initial phone call, I knew that we needed to have Barbie as a part of our team for our second baby. Her support was never ending through pregnancy, with prenatal visits to get to know each other + help my husband and I prepare not only ourselves, but my toddler for welcoming a new baby. She helped us prepare our birth plan, without judgement of any choice we made. Barbie supported us as my due date came and went without labor beginning, and when we eventually chose induction to keep our little guy safe, Barbie was by our side every step of the way. Her experience made my induction move so quickly, and she was able to anticipate all of my needs and support me every moment of labor. Barbie was constantly thinking of the next step, and always had suggestions of what we could do to help my labor progress, what position changes would help, and how to best choose what steps I took for pain relief. I’m confident without her, my labor and birth would not have been anywhere near as quick or smooth! When my son needed some observation immediately after birth, Barbie held my hand so I was never alone as my husband stayed with our baby. When they returned, Barbie supported us through his first latch. Postpartum, Barbie has continued to support us with regular check ins + postpartum visits. When I was having some struggles nursing, Barbie helped connect me with lactation counselor who came to my home the following day. I truly cannot imagine this experience without her by our side + would recommend her to everyone we know. You won’t find a more caring person to be a part of your birth team
