If you are looking for a doula, Audrea is the one you want. She gave me the birth experience I was hoping for. She began encouraging me as soon as I asked her to be my doula, and continued months after I had given birth.
We did not have a good birth experience previously, so we were looking for a different hospital. We told Audrea what we were looking for and she was able to recommend a different option, which ended up being the perfect fit for us. Audrea regularly kept in touch with me throughout the pregnancy, inquiring of my expectations and preferences for this birth, and prepping us for it.
Audrea was always there when I needed her advise, suggestions, and encouragement. Unlike our previous birth experience, Audrea was able to offer helpful positions to labor in and for pushing. She was able to read me and determine when it might be a good idea to change positions. I never had to say a thing. Audrea showed and helped my husband massage me, so that he could be part of the experience as much as possible. Audrea was ready to help me if the midwives or doctor suggested something that I did not desire, but she was never in the way, nor did she overstep her bounds. She gave us that quiet confidence to keep going, and offered encouragement at just the right time. There were multiple times my husband and I began to worry that things weren't looking so good, but Audrea reassured us that everything was going smoothly and as planned.
Audrea met with us a few weeks postpartum to review our birth experience. It was so helpful to digest and better understand what we had experienced. I felt that we had come full circle with my daughter's birth. It was refreshing and encouraging. Audrea continued to keep in contact throughout the following months and was always available with any questions I had. I am so thankful for Audrea and all that she did to give me the best birth experience possible. I highly recommend Audrea as a doula.
