Thank goodness for Lawren! So Lawren wasn't actually my doula.. hear me out. She was the "backup" doula that MY doula had coordinated "just in case" I went into labor on the ONE day she wasn't available. My husband and I met with Lawren and my doula once at our home and it was a great meeting but we figured what are the chances we're going to need her? WELL, we needed her. I was in labor at St.Peters on the very day my doula had a clinical for nursing school that she could not miss. Enter Lawren: with her bag of essential oils, fairy lights, and comfort. She was WONDERFUL. I had not had the opportunity to develop a rapport with her however that did NOT matter. Her presence was comforting and reassuring. Her suggestions her well-timed and appropriate. She turned a hospital bathroom into a cozy labor cave. If that's not magic I don't know what is. When I was cold, she wrapped me in her rebozo which she allowed me to keep. She stepped in and provided me with exactly what I needed and hoped to receive from a doula. She was a great advocate for me with the hospital staff. She has a great knowledge of labor techniques and strategies. I wholeheartedly recommend Lawren's services to anyone who is looking for a doula.
