For my first pregnancy, I knew I wanted to have the support of a doula. I had never experienced pregnancy or birth before so I was looking for someone to help support my husband and myself through this new experience. I also knew I wanted an unmedicated, water birth at a birth center. I was lucky enough to be matched with Alyx and felt comfortable with her right away. She met with me multiple times throughout my pregnancy and brought so much positivity and wisdom when I needed it most. She helped me to feel comfortable and confident in my pregnancy and leading up to the birth. When it was baby time, she helped to support me by saying everything I needed to hear while having contractions. She also helped support my husband when he needed it. Her encouragement was so helpful, and she helped make me feel very grounded. She was also kind enough to take photos during delivery, which I'll cherish forever! I am so glad that I met Alyx and had her there for me during my pregnancy and birth. I truly believe I couldn't have done any of it without her support.
