Kelly was referred to me by a family member and a doula was highly recommended especially for my first child and I am SO glad I had Kelly by my side. She was informative and helped me understand the labor process as well as talk to both my husband and I about what to expect, what to do, and how my husband could best support me. With her guidance and support I was able to mainly labor at home, and have a comfortable and smooth labor experience in the hospital as well. During delivery, Kelly worked so well with my midwife to ensure my baby boy arrived safely and even efficiently. Out of all the things I educated myself on, pushing during delivery was something I did not get right the first time. Thankfully, Kelly didn't give up on me and had me try different methods of pushing. She remained patient as I tried a few different ways and in less than 45 minutes my baby boy arrived. Kelly supported every decision I had about an unmedicated birth, answered every question, and just as importantly remained realistic during the entire process. It was such a comforting feeling knowing that I had my midwife fully focused on the safe arrival of my baby, and Kelly fully focused on ensuring I was taken care of, as comfortable as a mom could possibly be during labor and deliver, and mentally strong.
