Oh, Alyx! Words can't quite paint the true impact that she has made on myself and my family during our most recent birth. I birth my babies fast, and somehow she still managed to get to our home, tidy my room, take pictures, set up my birth playlist and give me sips of electrolytes before I birthed my baby during his one hour labor. She also made sure to visit us at the hospital after a very difficult postpartum transport and our son needing NICU support, giving me words of comfort, love and connection that I deeply needed during that time. A good doula is one that impacts the whole family for the better, whether the birth goes exactly as planned or not, and Alyx always managed to hear me and respond with the most intuitive, heart-balm words during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I'm so grateful for all that she did for us!
