My husband and I were hesitant to hire another doula after a very poor birth and doula experience with our first child. Barbie came highly recommended by a family member and from our first conversation with her were immediately put at ease. Barbie's depth of knowledge of the birth process, local resources and her ability to listen to what we did and did not want, made her the perfect fit for us. In labor, she supported not only me, but my husband by gently guiding him to assist with comforting me and explaining what medical peofessionals were saying/doing. Her guidance helped us achieve our goal of an unmedicated VBAC with a birth that the midwives called, "textbook," a vast difference from our birth experience last with our son, which ended in an emergency C-Sevtion. After labor, Barbie continued to support us through early postpartum, checking in on our transition to a family of four, providing local resources, and making sure we were emotionally, physically and mentally well. I would not recommend anyone but Barbie to support and guide you through your pregnancy, labor and postpartum experiences! She is truely a treasure.
