Having a Doula was a nonnegotiable But we were new to Tallahassee and I didn't know of anyone. Hannah came highly recommended and she didn't let us down.
We hit it off on our first call and I felt sure that she would be a great fit for us because she was knowledgeable, easy to talk with, and clearly loved being a Doula.
Throughout our pregnancy, Hannah was there to answer questions and provide guidance as we prepared for our labor and delivery. We met with her at our home, where she educated us on what to prepare for and listened to all of our worries and concerns and addressed them with evidence-based responses and various perspectives. It was important for us to understand things from a holistic perspective as well as scientific and she was great at addressing both.
She also had a ton of resources and connections within the LD space that provided immense value to us, including a lactation consultant and a birth class...both of which we loved.
I cannot imagine having gone through my first pregnancy and birth without Hannah and without the resources she provided. It's a beautiful journey, but there are sides to it that when you have the information, bring so much more peace and sense of control in a very uncontrollable environment.
When I compare my pregnancy and birth story to friends who did not have a Doula, there is a clear difference. We were educated, prepared, and had an advocate by our side that helped us make informed decisions and brought us peace throughout the experience. During delivery, Hannah was by our side providing me comfort and keeping me focused. Her presence allowed my husband to take breaks, and her guidance allowed him to support me in the best way possible
Hannah also visited us postpartum to help us with questions as we navigated our new baby. we are so grateful to have had her. I highly recommend Hannah as a Doula!!
