I can’t possibly say enough positive things about our experience working with Terri! As a first-time mom, I reached out to Terri after hearing she came highly recommended from several midwives at UCHealth. We connected by phone and her positive, nurturing manner, in addition to her professionalism and vast experience as a doula, immediately put my husband and I at ease. We exchanged several texts and phone calls in the days leading up to my delivery to help ease my anxiety and think about pros/cons of a planned induction should I go past my due date. My doctor ultimately did recommend an induction and Terri supported us through every step of the 30-hour process. I truly can’t imagine having gotten through labor and delivery without her! Her experience, knowledge, and calm demeanor were invaluable. She helped advocate for things I wouldn’t have even know to advocate for and skillfully helped my husband and I at decision points without pushing us in any particular direction. She provided recommendations for positions and other coping strategies that I wouldn’t have thought to do myself (especially as contractions intensified and everything I had learned ahead of time went out the window!). I feel very confident that her suggestions for movement/positions as labor progressed helped our baby get in a good position to shorten the pushing stage! My husband was also so grateful for her guidance in how to support me through a long labor and ease any of his own fears. The photos Terri took throughout the process, plus the birth story she wrote up for our daughter, were beautiful. I wouldn’t have necessarily thought I wanted either of those, but can see now how incredibly special and cherished they will be— they also helped me a lot with my emotional healing postpartum. My husband and I are forever grateful for Terri! I would absolutely recommend her to all of my friends!
